People
The Arnon Lab is brand new at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev — and right now, it's just me! I am actively recruiting students and postdocs at all levels. If you are excited about DNA nanotechnology, self-assembly, and building materials that bridge molecular precision with macroscale function, I'd love to hear from you.
Join UsPrincipal Investigator
Dr. Zohar Arnon
Assistant Professor, Avram and Stella Goldstein-Goren Department of Biotechnology Engineering
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
Zohar completed his B.Sc. in Physics and Biology and his Ph.D. with Distinction in Biotechnology, both at Tel Aviv University. His doctoral work in the laboratory of Prof. Ehud Gazit focused on peptide and protein self-assembly, revealing how simple molecular building blocks can self-assemble into complex structures with unique functional properties.
He carried out postdoctoral training at Columbia University with Prof. Oleg Gang, where he developed expertise in DNA nanotechnology and programmable self-assembly, spatially arranging molecules in 3D superlattices with nanoscale precision.
Zohar joined BGU in 2026, where his lab focuses on engineering programmable bionanomaterials using DNA origami, protein and peptide self-assembly, and external physical fields. He is also an editor and author of the forthcoming textbook The Art of Molecular Programming.
